Lech Poznań – Bruk-Bet Termalica Nieciecza 5:0 

Lech was a definite favourite and since the opening minutes, the hosts demonstrated their supremacy. It seemed only a matter of time before Skorża’s team would find the back of the net. 18 minutes into the game, Lech changed the score for the first time. Kristoffer Velde – for whom the clash with Termalica was a league debut – sent a perfectly-timed cross into the box and captain Mikael Ishak converted it into the first goal of the night.

However, not long after the Swede was forced to leave the pitch as a result of an injury. He was replaced by Dawid Kownacki who has recently returned to Lech after 5 years of playing abroad. However, it wasn’t Dawid, but another Academy player that changed the score to 2:0. Jakub Kamiński beat Termalica’s keeper with a strong and precise shot just under the crossbar. Before halftime, Dani Ramirez added another goal, emphasising Lech’s domination.

The second half looked no different as Lech stayed in possession of the ball for a majority of the time and kept on creating goal-scoring opportunities. Bartosz Salamon converted one of those opportunities into the fourth goal. The defender received a great pass from a free kick and he effortlessly placed the ball in the net from a close distance. 5 minutes before the final time, Dawid Kownacki set the final score to 5:0 with the help of Adriel Ba Loua.

As a result of the Saturday win, Lech remains the leader of PKO BP Ekstraklasa. Next Sunday (February 20^th, 5:30 pm) Skorża’s team will face Lechia Gdańsk in an away game.
